Strauss Massey Dinneen is proud to announce that founding partners David Strauss and Adam Massey will be featured speakers at the Louisiana State Bar Association’s upcoming CLE seminar, “Under Oath: Secrets to Powerful Depositions,” taking place on Wednesday, November 12, at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter Hotel in New Orleans.
This full-day seminar is designed for litigators seeking to sharpen their deposition skills, from mastering expert cross-examinations to navigating the ethical and strategic challenges of witness preparation.
David will co-present a mock deposition to help corporate witnesses handle tough questions and spot traps, entitled “Railroading a Corporate Witness,” alongside two highly respected colleagues, Chase Chassaignac of IV Porteous, Hainkel & Johnson in Baton Rouge, and V. Ed McGuire III of Plauche, Smith & Nieset in Lake Charles, whose courtroom experience and insight he greatly admires. Their session will focus on defending corporate representatives in high-pressure scenarios under Rule 30(b)(6).
With more than two decades of litigation experience, David brings practical insight and strategic nuance to the art of deposition defense. His session will explore how opposing counsel may attempt to manipulate or confuse corporate witnesses and how attorneys can prepare their clients to stay composed, credible, and on-message.
Drawing on his deep experience in expert depositions, Adam will present a dynamic session titled “Crossing the Experts: Deposing Technical and Medical Experts,” equipping attendees with proven strategies to challenge expert testimony with clarity, confidence, and surgical precision.
Adam is a seasoned trial and appellate attorney with deep experience defending insurers in fraud investigations, bad-faith litigation, and complex coverage disputes.
